The Clit Obsession

Whenever the modern world talks about orgasm, the Orgasm Gap comes up, a lot. For most heterosexual relationships, this ‘gap’ is commonly referred to as the clitoris being the culprit of women experiencing a lack of orgasm compared to men.

While the focus of the Orgasm Gap soley falls on the lack of locating of the clitoris during sex, modern science fails to mention the other 14 orgasms that women are capable of. Yes, you read that right - over 15+ forms of orgasm.

Sexual Pleasure Begins in the brain

It’s pretty straight forward, so what’s the big deal? Many times, the culprit that’s in the way - is the brain.

The brain & body cannot hold conflicting beliefs, so in order to have fulfilling sex; we must incorporate both. Allow yourself to get curious with your relationship to pleasure. What thought patterns arise in the heat of sex? Is your body relaxed? Are you thinking about the dishes?

Of course, your orgasms cannot catapult overnight - but you can enhance your pleasure daily.

By actively participating in pleasure, you signal to your brain that you can relax and connect with your sensory experience. You quite literally - create new neural pathways to the brain.

Think:  a long hot bath, a good conversation or even consciously eating your favorite foods.

Your ability to hold the very essence of pleasure in your body, is what trickles down into your sex life.

Rewriting What Orgasm Is

From a holistic perspective, the Orgasm Gap also fails to acknowledge the gold mine of pleasure that a person can experience. And, it isn’t just boiled down to 3 minutes of sexual penetration, a quick buzzzz, or a clitoral orgasm.

More often than not, my clients come to me because they lack a sense of fulfillment in their sex lives - not orgasms.

So, how can we change that? The answer is not in new toys, sex magazines or that CBD lube. It’s in your relationship to pleasure.

YEP! That’s it. Let me break it down for you: more pleasure, sensation and fulfillment is directly linked to connection. The more connected you are to your body, the more pleasure and fulfillment you experience.
